Full Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade
Vuk Radović was born in 1976 in Belgrade, where he completed elementary school and the Fourth Belgrade Gymnasium. In both schools, he was recognized as the student of the generation and received the “Vuk Karadžić” diploma. He enrolled at the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade, in 1995 and graduated at the end of 1999. After graduation, he pursued postgraduate studies in commercial law and worked for one year as a legal trainee at the First Municipal Court in Belgrade. Since 2000, he has been employed at the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade. In 2018, he was promoted to full professor in the field of commercial law (teaching Corporate Law, Commercial Law, and Bankruptcy Law).
In June 2003, Vuk Radović defended his master’s thesis at the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade, with distinction, on the topic Bankruptcy of the Assets of Natural Persons, earning a Master of Laws (LLM) degree. During the 2003-2004 academic year, he earned an additional LLM degree with honors at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in the United States. In September 2007, he completed his doctorate with distinction at the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade, on the topic Defensive Measures of a Joint Stock Company Against Takeovers. In February 2008, the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce awarded his dissertation as the best doctoral thesis defended in the previous academic year.
Legislative Contributions: Professor Radović has been involved in numerous legislative drafting committees, including:
- Drafting the Amendments to the Law on Business Companies (2017),
- Drafting the Amendments to the Bankruptcy Law (2014),
- Drafting the Corporate Governance Code of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (2012),
- Drafting the Bankruptcy Law (2009),
- Drafting the Corporate Governance Code of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (2006),
- Drafting the Takeover Law (2005).
He is currently part of the working group for drafting the Bankruptcy Law for entrepreneurs. Since June 2022, he has been engaged by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to draft Montenegro’s new Law on Business Companies.
Additional Roles and Engagements:
- President of the Committee for Professional Ethics at the University of Belgrade since 2018,
- President of the Court of Honor at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce since 2018,
- Director of the Publishing Center at the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade, since 2018,
- Founder and President of the Bankruptcy Law Association,
- Editor-in-chief of Law and Economy journal (2008-2019).
Guest Professorships: Outside the University of Belgrade, Professor Radović has taught as a guest professor at:
- Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade, teaching Business Law since 2018,
- University of Donja Gorica (UDG) in Podgorica, teaching Corporate Law and Commercial Law since 2018.
Previously, he taught at the Faculty of Law in Graz (2009-2013), Faculty of Geography, University of Belgrade, in Tourism Studies (2010-2021), and the Faculty of Law in East Sarajevo, Republika Srpska (2014-2016).
